Daily Doodle: I do not seem to have much commentary in me lately! The pose is reffed, with modifications as usual. It is a good day, because today (the day of my daughter's wedding) Katy is back on unemployment. This means in two weeks times, Katy will actually once again have some sort of income going into her bank account. This is most excellent news!

I spent class tonight doodling in my notebook.

So my jeans- half of which don't fit, if you recall- are to the point where after one day of wear, I can pull them down without unbuttoning. So clearly on the big side. I pulled a pair of them out today straight FROM THE DRYER and could pull them off immediately. That was supposed to be the couple of hours I got out of them in which they actually fit! D: D: D: Watch me cry as yet another pair of pants becomes unwearable because apparently I am losing weight (which is good news, really).

HAHAHAHAHA okay so I just took the dog out, and walked down the stairs- and my jeans fell down. On their own. With no tugging.

Today was apparently a "become re-addicted to Rune Factory" day so I think I might put on pajamas, gravitate towards my bed, and play DS.

Threw a couple of videos online.

The first involves KROOOOOOZE telling us precisely how Yu-Gi-Oh ended, from the point of view of someone who's never seen a single full episode of the show. He does a good job, actually.

The second is me dramatically reading a random fanfic with Mary Sues, half-naked Yugis, and a solid Yami separate from Yugi's body. Gotta love it, huh? Just to put aside some concerns, I contacted the author before making the video and made doubly certain it wouldn't be a problem if I poked fun at their fic. And yes, bad art is intentionally bad.

Getting quite a few calls from random animé conventions begging me to appear as a guest... A lot of them don't seem to realise I'm in England. Heh.

Soooooo I saw Tier 10 Shaman gear preview.

Anddddd I want it. Which makes me realize that I want to be 80 at some point before patch 3.3 comes out, because otherwise this'll be obsolete (although with the way my server's progressing it probably won't because there're still folks stuck in Naxx right now. There's a total of 2 guilds that're doing TotC. 2.), and it look sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty.

I'm gonna go buy Wrath today. Hopefully my computer can run it...... ehe. If not I'm dead.

As you all know, I am not above rescuing other people's cast off clothes. In fact, I've gotten it down to a science. It's really all about timing and location. If you are anywhere near a college campus (which I have either been on one or at least 20 mins away from one... my entire life) then you have access to some hip secondhand clothes, oftentimes entirely free. Recently had a good haul, because some sorority girl decided to clean out her closet. This means a lot of "hip" basics that are off-trend, which is never something I care about anyway. Some basics are always fantastic. Like cableknit sweaters and henleys and button-up cardigans.

Just when I was thinking I needed more of those things too.

There is also something vaguely karmic to some of the things I find, like stuff from Holister or American Eagle or Other Trendy Mall Store I Am Always Afraid to Go Into. I have to wonder how much the original owner paid for it, and how often they ended up wearing it (usually... not much from the looks of the stuff). Also, the whole Green movement means that instead of in the dumpster like I would have had to find things (no, I do not jump into dumpsters) they are conveniently in boxes out for anyone to find.

I just have to make sure to throw some things of my own in the box, lest I accumulate too much. XD

Back to math study.

Okay, you know what? I've held out for nearly three and a half months now, but I am nearly at my breaking point (even though we are now in the home stretch). I am SICK of not having my own computer to work on. There are huge disadvantages to sharing a computer that you just really don't even think of until you have to do it yourself. I HATE logging out of everything every time I walk away from the computer, because the hell I'm leaving my email accounts vulnerable to prying eyes. And on your average day? I need to be logged into LJ, JournalFen, Yahoo email, Gmail (with Reader and Documents), Twitter, Delicious for bookmarks, Pandora, a couple of message boards, and my file storage account; my life would be infinitely easier if I could just stay logged in. So I HATE dumping the cache and the cookies and the browsing history and even the SEARCH history if I so much as duck out for a glass of tea, and I HAVE to do it, because you know why? You know why? Researching the @#$%*&@ e-book footnotes, that's why. If I didn't, you'd go to the Google drop-down search box and get "bella's felted womb," "dead from coke," "edward lipstick," "gq motherfucker," "total eclipse sex scene," 5000 Twilight articles, and "twincest." And there is NO WAY I am letting my family know I spent that much time looking up shit about Twilight.

I can't do a whole hell of a lot on this computer either, since it's like eight years old as it is--in excellent condition, but it's only got 30GB storage, you know? You can infer from that what the processor thingamawhatever speed must be like. It just can't do a lot. It can't handle Skype, for example. And I don't have any of my pet programs (Semagic for LJ, TweetDeck, ACDSee photo organizing, and probably a ton of others I've forgotten because IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE USED THEM), because the computer either can't handle a given program or it can't handle them all together. And we THOUGHT it had Photoshop, but apparently not, and while I'm pretty handy on that, I apparently am too stupid to operate MS Paint. People keep telling me how to crop and I just. can't. manage it. And then I go back to Firefox and accidentally hit "home" instead of "new tab" and I lose my entire LJ entry draft, because whenever it tries to recover a "saved" draft, it gives me the previous entry I already posted. HATRED.

And then I can't really save images (no room, plus other people looking at my shit) or watch videos (I hate being walked in on while I'm trying to watch whatever weird-ass thing someone just linked on Twitter. Mostly I just don't have time because I'm under the gun to get anything done before someone else needs the computer), assuming I could get the video to work at all. Because I physically can't get time at the computer as much as I'd like, my Google Reader news items just sit and pile up, so every morning I have "1000+," and one day I cleared 600 items and STILL had 1000+. I keep having to star things I want to go back and use in the footnotes or save pictures from, and I am TIRED OF IT.

If I didn't have the iBella--which at least has a camera, an mp3 player, and apps for Twitter, Pandora and my email that I DON'T HAVE TO LOG OUT OF--I would have gone insane by now. The day I figured out how to copy-paste links on my phone, I nearly wept for joy. Even there, I can't really answer emails or LJ comments at any length--if it's going to be a short reply, I can tap it out with a minimum of head-meeting-wall, but y'all know how wordy I am. We get to more than two sentences and I just can't manage it; I have to wait to answer until I get to the (shared) (family) computer. And then I have to log into umpteen thousand things all over again but then someone else needs the computer RIGHT NOW and I have to dump everything and hope no one noticed that I was at that moment searching "vampire sex toys." Oh, and blip.fm just doesn't work on the iPhone at all. RAAAAAAAGE.

Only one more week until [New Computer's Name] arrives. I will console myself with a peppermint chocolate chip milkshake from Chick-fil-A, I think.

Secondly, I'm actually kind of wimping out on most of the remaining Tricks because it's already over a week late and I'm a loser and jlkafdsl I'm sorry ;A;!! But triptych, this icon is for you, at least. :) It's pretty ugly, but shh it's the thought that counts, right?

Other than that, not much, really. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, but that's not really out of the ordinary. It has been making me a little anxious being unable to write my thoughts down, though. I've either been too busy or too exhausted; that's not really anything new, either.

School is kind of kicking my ass this month. This new class we have is... pretty lame ugh =A=!! Even though it's our Hetalia class :'( Even though it's pretty much like Spaceship Earth: The Class :'( ... though I guess that latter name is even more fitting now that we've experienced how boring it is. I don't have anything against our teacher as a person, but as a teacher... e_e\\ He's old-fashioned, I guess? Or maybe that's just from a perspective of someone who's been lucky and spoiled by awesome teachers recently. But regardless, it really sucks to have to go through 200 pages of information for a 35-question multiple choice test-- and an essay test on top of that, but. AND ANY TEACHER WHO ACTUALLY MAKES YOU MEMORIZE DATES IS JUST CRUEL OKAY :'(

So I got about... 30 pages in before I gave up. I really struggle with reading, and it's like... Even listening in class doesn't help, because he really goes on about something for a half hour without even touching on what we actually need to know for the tests. This guy in our class really doesn't help with that, because he keeps asking question after question of everything that could have less to do with the material. My brother seriously wants to believe that this guy enrolled specifically to troll our class :'(

Hi there, everyone. I'm going to be cosplaying Shadow Yukiko for a summer convention in my city (Animethon). While the con itself is far off, I'd like to get a head start on this cosplay so that I won't feel pressed for time or finances. I'd like to get your advice before I start cutting anything. Your input would be appreciated too, if I end up making progress posts to show you guys how everything's going.

Has anyone done Shadow Yukiko before?

Is there any chance there are some images online that I can use as a reference?

I first learned how to sew about 7 or 8 years ago. I'm not a master at it by any means, but I do know the basics, own my own sewing machines, and have done several sewing projects in the past. N-nothing as big as Shadow Yukiko, though. I usually buy commercial patterns and use those, making minor adjustments if I have to.

I've already bought myself a base pattern and a ton of fabric (everything was 50% off, yet it was still pricey ;_;), though I think I'm too embarrassed to share anything just yet.

It's no news that I have a lot of websites. 21, actually, to be exact (3 fansites, 15 fanlistings, and 3 other sites).

But with the full-time job weighing down on me, and other such adult responsibility (bleck), it's time I considered closing or repurposing some sites.

Therefore, I have come up with this list of sites I am thinking of closing or making important changes to. Please feel free to make comments or offer suggestions as to what I should close/change/KEEP FOREVER.

Spammy spammy spam spammin' ur f-list~~

I got almost ALL of my grad school stuff done, addressed, and ready to get sent out, including all the addressed and postage-affixed envelopes for my references writing my recommendation letters. This took the better part of 2-ish hours of me sitting in the office scribbling out addresses, printing, and sorting through various admissions requirements to figure out what needed to go where. As a reward, I went to the gym! Did 3.5 miles and then proceeded to drink an entire quart of Powerade (that was a $1 at Kmart) before I even got HOME from the gym. Crazy. I have to admit, this whole eating one meal a day to save money thing only really backfires when I'm running, because that first mile is KILLER on an empty stomach.

Am working my way through season 4 of Supernatural. Holy crap this show wants me to ship Dean/Castiel more than anything in existence, I swear the effing subtext is all over the screen. Also, okay, Castiel is admittedly ridiculously gorgeous (Misha Collins, your twitter makes my life a better place). But he's also hilarious, and adorable, and um I kind of love him very, very much. ♥ I think I am closer to the end than I imagine I am, since I'm on episode 16, and there are usually 22 in a season.

... how do you people stand these updates, because my life is the single most boring thing in the history of ever.

Sooo I've been thinking about a new computer for a quite a while, and my 'rents said they'd get one around Christmas. I'm planning to buy Cataclysm the day it comes out (okay, maybe not THE day, but maybe I'll pre-order it for once. Because I want goblins so bad! And I don't want a scenario where at last I hit 80 and everyone's already 85.) ANYWAYS, the point is that I need a comp that can possibly run it (without knowing the exact requirements, but I figure I can ballpark it). And I've been dawdling on comp websites for a while, and I think one of the best deals out there is probably a MacMini.

Deals specific to me, which is that I need something I can carry by myself when I move over relatively long distances. So anything that's a full-size tower is kinda undesirable (or any monstrosities that people build). It also needs to be powerful enough to, well, run Cataclysm, and theoretically not crash in Dalaran/WG/Whatever main city Cataclysm has, but that might be asking too much. I've been so set on getting a PC because I thought Macs are too expensive, that I totally forgot there's the option of Mini. The only thing I need to buy that's extra if I get a Mini is a keyboard, and those come cheap, even wireless ones. There just aren't any Dell comps that "wowed" me, ya know? (Mainly because they come with shitty video cards, and if I buy a better video card I might as well buy a Mac because it's all built-in and pretty.)

A) the gifs from the My Girl PV making of are the single most adorable, hilarious things I've ever seen, and I think my ovaries exploded like ten times from sheer overload of awesome.
